Linux Systems Administrator with configuration management software experience to support deployed and new installations. Qualified candidates will work with other team members on various levels of operating systems, applications and related support in the Linux environment.
The individual will have experience with the following:
RedHat Linux, or advanced general Linux knowledge
Troubleshooting of standard daemons and tools (NFS, NTP, BIND, APACHE, SYSLOG, logrotate, chkconfig, init scripts, curl, general networking, etc.)
Experience performing all aspects of the integration and test of the system including:
o Quality assurance
o Set up / debug system interfaces
o Set up / debugging network interface architecture
o Loading the operating system
o Loading applications
Ensure systems are kept in required configuration profile, including: patch maintenance, changes as required by evolvement of production environments, updating software and software configurations
Ability to understand complex systems with many components
Generate and maintain Server Certifications
Experience with perl/bash/php/Ruby or other scripting languages
Assume other duties/projects as they arise and be responsive to the needs of the department
Provide daily status reports on activities completed and current projects

MANDATORY SKILLS: Minimum 5+ years System Administration experience, RedHat Enterprise Linux
Experience with system Configuration Management software (Puppet)
Experience with system-of-system integration/debugging
Ability to see architectural implications driven by component changes
3+ years direct experience with an or signals intelligence activity
Five (5) years experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required (experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity within the Federal Government is preferred).
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional system administration experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
Optimizes system operations and resource utilization, and performs system capacity analysis and planning
Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers
Provides Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems
Provides support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
Provides Tier 1 (Help Desk) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems
Manages the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems
Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems
Provide assistance to users in accessing and using IT systems
