The selected candidate shall lead RF / Front-End integration and test engineering of all required components as a PCS (3yr) assignment to an ASIA/PACIFIC location. The tasks to be performed may include, but are not limited to the following:
Analyze RF / front end architectures (Antenna through Modem Signal Path) to ensure integration with existing site front end components. Analysis may include noise figure, dynamic range, gain flatness, gain ripple, phase noise, group delay and predicted degradations in bit error rate performance.
Document and analyze down conversion, demodulation and distribution components.
Support installation, integration and testing of FE equipment against the specifications.
Perform software loads and post-configuration of software based demodulators and software defined radios.
Perform Firmware updates to RF Switches and Demodulators.
Support the QC and QA process of all RF systems.
Determine requirements for RF interfaces and testing.
Interface with equipment vendors.
Identify RF test equipment for testing of RF Front End systems.
Test Front End components using RF Test Equipment to validate compliance to establish specifications for phase noise, group delay, dynamic range, gain flatness, gain ripple and noise figure.
Configure and test COTS and software based demodulators with an understanding of Forward Error Correction, symbol-to-bit mapping, differential encoding, PSK and QAM demodulation.
Proficiency in the use and operation of oscilloscopes, power meters, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, vector network analyzers and bit error rate measurement systems.
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

MANDATORY SKILLS: Experience in analyzing and testing the receive side of communication satellite systems (operating in the C, Ku, L Frequency Bands) that encompass antenna outputs through modem inputs.
Experience in integrating and testing all RF components or systems that demodulate analog and digital communications signals.
Experience leading RF engineers and performing and publishing engineering studies.
The selected candidate must be willing and able to travel, CONUS and OCONUS.
