Description & Responsibilities
  • Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
  • Ensures the stable operation of the in-house computer network, including planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network hardware (routers, switches, and UPSs), software, and communication links.
  • Manage servers and security solutions, including e-mail & print services, firewall, anti-virus, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of end user workstation hardware, software, peripheral devices in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training where required.
  • Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures for appropriate use and disaster recovery
  • Conduct research on network products, services in support of network procurement and development efforts
  • Maintain and verify backup servers/systems.
  • Provide first hand support, IT training, and troubleshooting to all office staff for IT matters
  • Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
Formal Education & Certification
  • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science with a focus on network design and administration OR 2 years relevant work experience.
  • Holds or is working towards one of the following certifications: MCSA, A+, Network+, Security+, or Server+ certifications.
Knowledge & Experience
  • Working technical knowledge of current network hardware and PC operating systems, including Windows 7/8/10, Windows 2008/2012/2016 Server, and Linux variants.
  • Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience.
  • Able to install, support, and troubleshoot server and PC hardware components and peripherals.

  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly and non-technical language.
